Before we even arrived, Mr. Mahendra Bora set the tone. When we landed at Kathgodam on a holiday weekend and found cab drivers charging nearly double the fair price, a quick call to Mr. Mahendra sorted everything out — he guided us step by step, suggested the sharing cab route, and kept following up to make sure we reached safely. That kind of care before we’d even checked in told us everything about what kind of host he is. The property itself is beautiful. We were offered the first floor room with a private balcony and the views were stunning. The room is spacious and well maintained, with a good mattress, 24/7 power backup and excellent WiFi. The food deserves a special mention. Whatever we ordered — tea, Maggi, parathas, kadhai chicken, paneer — arrived fresh and on time, every single time. Mr. Mahendra even went to the market personally to get fresh chicken when we requested it. What truly made this trip memorable was that Mr. Mahendra personally accompanied us to Jageshwar Temple and the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary in his own vehicle. He shared history, pointed out the forests, took us through offbeat routes, and made sure we got the most out of every moment. There is also a small viewpoint just 10 minutes walk from the property — free, and absolutely worth it for Himalayan views. The bonfire is available too and worth it if the weather cooperates. A final word — and this comes from the heart. Having travelled across Germany, Singapore and various parts of the world, I can say with complete confidence that the hospitality we received here is something I have never experienced anywhere else. It cannot be replicated. As my wife put it — it felt truly personal. Mr. Mahendra doesn’t just run a homestay. He wants you to fall in love with his mountains, his region, the place he was born and grew up in. And that genuine pride and warmth is what makes Binsar View Homestay something truly exceptional. A heartfelt shoutout to Mr. Mahendra Bora and his entire team for going so far beyond what any guest could expect. If you’re planning a trip to Binsar — just book this. We stayed at Binsar View Homestay for two days in May, and it was a wonderful experience. The location is simply breathtaking—perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the serenity of nature. Since the homestay has only a few rooms, every room offers an equally stunning view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. While the rooms are not luxurious like those in a hotel, they are comfortable, well-maintained, and equipped with all the basic amenities required for a pleasant stay. The entire property, including the rooms, was exceptionally neat and clean. One thing to keep in mind is that power outages can occur frequently, so carrying a few candles or an emergency light is a good idea. However, mobile network connectivity and Wi-Fi are available, ensuring you stay connected when needed. If you’re planning to explore the Kumaon region, I would highly recommend staying at Binsar View Homestay. A special thanks to Mahendra Ji for his excellent guidance before our arrival and for his warm hospitality throughout our stay. The property is peaceful, scenic, and a perfect place to connect with nature. We truly enjoyed the calm atmosphere, trecking , yoga, played cricket, and beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Binsar.
